The Sherpa Executive Coaching Process

Sherpas: These Himalayan guides can take you to the top of the world. That’s the model we’ve created for executive coaching. The Sherpa can get you to the top, but they won’t do the climbing for you. The Sherpa advises, provides tools and shares knowledge of the path to follow.  Climbers reach the summit under their own power.

Facilitation and self-discovery. That’s the Sherpa model, and the best way to inspire progress and success with individual managers and executives, all the way up to CEO.

  • Typical engagement:  12 weekly one-hour meetings, face to face, away from the office.
  • A clear, well-mapped process, so everyone knows how far along things have come.
  • Between meetings:  journaling, ‘homework’ assignments, support as needed.

Sherpa’s Standardized process

Sherpa’s exclusive, detailed process guarantees a predictable path to the top that is personal, one-on-one, and highly effective.

Sherpa has a systematic, process-based approach to leadership development.  The benefits range from setting appropriate expectations, clearly identifying goals and objectives, and recognizing and accepting leadership roles and responsibilities. Our sherpa coaches meet with the client for 12 weeks.  We have a mid-term evaluation with the client and the client’s supervisor.  We maintain ongoing communication to boss/executive contact when the need arises.  We offer a final de-briefing with both coaching client and executive contact.

The Sherpa process has been taught at eight universities, including current partners Miami (Ohio), Texas Christian and the University of Georgia. It is the only process taught at multiple universities.
